End Occupation in Afghanistan immediately!

Concerning the issue of the pull-out of the Federal Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) from Afghanistan, Christine Buchholz, member of the executive board of the party DIE LINKE, demands to withdraw the troops immediately:

Every day the Federal Armed Forces stay in Afghanistan, is one too many. It has to withdraw now – regardsless of how long the US army will stay. It is a scandal, that Merkel, Westerwelle and de Maizière want to conduct war for at least another three years – until the end of 2014.

In all provinces of the country Afghans protest against NATO troops and demand an end of occupation. The president of the senate compared the NATO to the soviet occupation. The murder of civilists was no “isolated case”, but a further link of a long chain of cruelties of NATO troops. But the Federal Armed Forces do not want to pull out. At her visit in Afghanistan chancellor Merkel came up with a possible deployment beyond 2014. US Secretary of Defence Panetta intends to use the Kirghizian airport Mana as a military supply base for Afghanistan beyond that year. The Federal Government acts against the will of the majority of the German people, who after recent polls favour a fast end of the deployment.

DIE LINKE calls for participation in the Easter marches, to give emphasis to the claim to end the war!
