Executive Board Deliberated on the Request to Implement Party Membership Decisions
The Executive Board of DIE LINKE at its January 12th, 2012 session, according to §2 Para. 1 of the Regulations for Party Membership Decisions of DIE LINKE has discussed the submitted request from the state association of Mecklenburg and Western Pomerania and other branches of DIE LINKE regarding the implementation of party membership decisions to fill the positions of both party chairmen.
The Executive Board has endorsed the outlined legal opinion from Prof. Dr. Martin Morlok and determined that the application is inadmissible.
The Executive Board hopes that the board will lead a discussion about whether it recommends a rule change for the party conference of die LINKE allowing members to participate in personnel issues.
In addition, the Executive Board with the present trustees of the applicants has agreed that the chairmen and the spokespersons for the state associations, as well as the party leadership, will submit a number of proposals for further processing which would allow a wider integration of the party base in the forthcoming elections to the board. This includes the implementation of regional conferences and the timely presentation of nominations.
