Germany has to Give Cover to Snowden
"When a super power like the U.S. extensively spies on European states, the transatlantic relationship between the states changes. The ongoing spying out of the U.S. is a hostile act disregarding the democratic rights in our country. The Bundesregierung therefore has to cofront the U.S. with a totally new self confidence. That requires to enable Edward Snowden to make a statement in Germany. If the Bundesregierung was willing to do so, it could provide Snowden with the necessary protection. Otherwise the Federal Parliament is asked to act“ said Bernd Riexinger to journalists in Berlin today.
