Merkel Complicit in Declining Orders
“The breakdown of economy in the Eurozone, mainly in the South European crisis countries, in which Angela Merkel shares responsibility, redounds now upon Germany. The massive decline of orders from the Euro-Zone also goes to the account of Merkel,” comments Michael Schlecht on the order inflow of industry for June 2014 which decreased by 3,2 percent. It is the biggest decline since three years. Orders from the euro-zone dropped massively by more than ten percent compared to the previous month. The spokesperson for economic policy of parliamentary group DIE LINKE further:
“On European level, the economically nonsensical and socially catastrophic austerity programmes must be stopped immediately. A massive European-wide future programme has to be applied. Above all, the domestic demand in Germany has to be vastly stimulated. Only thus the indebtedness of the countries without euro can be diminished and the economy of the euro-zone can be stimulated.
To this, in Germany wage increases of about 6 percent per year are neccessary, which can be achieved by a strengthening of the trade-unions’ enforcing power and tariff autonomy. This requires a consistent ban of subcontracted work and unfounded temporary employment, the consistent prevention of abusing special-order contracts as well as the abolition of the compulsive Hartz IV system. In addition, the trade unions must be able to rule that wage agreements apply to all entrepreneurs in the individual branches because right now nearly 50 percent of employees are not protected by wage agreements anymore.”
