New Chance for Testimony of Edward Snowden in Germany
Bernd Riexinger asks the federal government for safe conduct of the former US secret service employee in view of the new Russian residence permit.
DIE LINKE sees a new chance to question the former US secret service employee in the NSA board of inquiry after the prolongation of the Russian residence permit for Edward Snowden. “Now there is a new window of opportunity for an appearance of Snowden before the NSA board.” said the chair of DIE LINKE, Bernd Riexinger, to the “Rheinische Post” from Dusseldorf. The federal government had to warrant Snowden safe conduct after the new Russian residence permit enables him to travel. “The federal government now has to overcome its misgivings; anything else would be open obstruction” said Riexinger. The US further search for Snowden against whom a warrant is issued.
