No Combat Drones for German Armed Forces
De Maziere sticks stubbornly to his plan of purchasing attack drones, despite the hundreds of millions of euros that were already sunk in EuroHawk, comments Jan van Aken, deputy party chair of the party DIE LINKE, on the messages about the planned purchase of 16 combat-capable drones.
De Maziere obviously wants fight drones at any price. It is nothing more than misdirection that the defense minister rules out targeted killings. Once purchased, the combat drones will also be put into use. Then it is only a matter of time before the previously solid boundaries are torn.
The Left wants a ban on combat drones which lower the threshold of the use of force in war. Those who allow machines to fight for them will soon decide to kill other people.
