No trivialization of the dangers of right extremists - No Criminalization of the democratic protest against Nazis

At the Holocaust Remembrance day commemoration on January 27th, the Chairman of the Party DIE LINKE, Lothar Bisky declares:

The ill spirit of right extremism is active throughout Europe. "We are obligated to face the current political conflict with its roots of fascism. Our opposition to the social demagogy of the Right is expected with a serious fight for social laws. With us there is neither historical revision nor the mentality of leaving the past behind and starting, once more, anew." As noted in the legacy of Kurt Julius Goldstein against the trivialization of the danger of right extremists. The Right pogrom night was followed by forced labor, deportation, and death. Today, where the first hand memories of contemporary witnesses are becoming fewer and fewer, the responsibility to create a comprehensive commemoration for the daily fight against right extremism, racism and anti-Semitism, is growing.

Die LINKE also renders their contribution. We demand, unperturbed, more publication of anti-fascist civil society initiatives, the work of advisory teams, and that the exit out of extreme right groups be made possible. We support a multilateral education in schools, in the public sphere, and in the active culture of remembrance. We are set against the trivialization of right extremists as a problem in social difficulties or an off-track young society.

We make a stand against the demonstration and celebration of the growing European networks and the attempt to forget the crimes of Hitler fascism on February 13th in Dresden. We seriously condemn the criminalization of the anti-fascist leagues through the forbiddance of posting placards and the prohibition of the website of the league "Dresden nazifrei". This is a blow to democratic efforts, who are against misanthropy, social demagogy, and historical reform. Both the call for a peaceful blockade against the Nazi demonstration, as well as the electronic information of the league “Nazifrei Dresden stellt sich quer” belong to political basic rights that should not be infringed upon, neither from the LKA (State Criminal Bureau) nor the Department of Public Prosecution.

The Executive Board of DIE LINKE called for the support of the anti-Nazi league on December 12, 2009. This means: "The city belongs to us! Never again Fascism, Never again War!" Now our educational protest needs a new quality. DIE LINKE will additionally contribute, with united anti-fascist fortitude and league partners, in Unions, Parties, and Organizations throughout Europe, in order to prevent the Nazi Demonstration in Dresden in 2010.
