North Korea Endangers International Security
“Head of state Kim Jong Un’s strategy to bomb himself into headlines worldwide endangers international security. The regime did not even inform its last ally – China – let alone its neighbours, the Russian Federation or the Republic of Korea, which is why the unanimous condemnation is understandable,” declares Stefan Liebich, spokesperson for DIE LINKE group in the parliamentary foreign committee on the fusion bomb test by North Korea. Liebich further:
“It is high time that anything is done for North Korea and its neighbour states South Korea, Peoples’ Republic China, and Russia, as well as Japan and the United States resume their six party-talks. Moreover, it now pays dearly that the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, which North Korea exited, has still not been ratified by the permanent members of the UN Security Council, the U.S. and China. The last thing the world needs in the year 2016 is further nuclear armament.”
