Gesine Lötzsch

Once again, the power must come from the people

"End the governments deal with the nucelar industry", demands the leader of DIE LINKE, Gesine Lötzsch, as a target of the various protests against the nuclear compromise. Gesine Lötzsch continues:

It is an attack on democracy, started by the government and the nuclear industry. Passing the elected parliament by, back room deals were made that were met by public disaproval, and which put the health and security of the people in danger. Our country was well on its way to freeing itself from nuclear power, before the Chancellor's radioactive counter revolution. the winners are the four energy companies, who, because of the radioactive compromise are achieving huge profits, without opposition.

DIE LINKE will support the public protest against the nuclear compromise. We are calling on all members and friends to participate in the Anti-Nuclear-Industry demonstration on the 18th of September 2010 at 13:00 at the Reichstag in Berlin. Our aim is to prevent the lifetime extension plans and strengthen democracy. The future of our country must not be decided by back room wheeling and dealing, but rather in parliament and through referendums.
