Return to the Political Debate, Instead of Plump Prohibition Rhetoric

"There are suspicions, that in light of the Parliamentary elections in May, a disagreeable political opponent, the third most powerful force in the Czech Parliament, could be cleared out of the way," said member of the Executive Board for DIE LINKE, Jan Korte, in regards to the discussion of a ban of the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia (KSCM). He declares:

In December, a Committee of the Czech Senate of the Executive Council Government of the Czech Republic reconsidered a request to discharge the suit calling for a ban against the KSCM. The new ban request is a summit topic of an anti-communist campaign of conservative circles in the Czech Republic. In their ideological rejection of everything that has to do with communist tradition, they also do not shy away from questionable democratic practices. Thus, at the vote for the committee statement, which is the foundation of the ban request, only 38 of 81 Senate members were present.

I call on the Czech Government, not to yield to the request for a ban also. What I expect in this campaign from the conservative companies, is that they will turn back to the field of political discussion and give up the attempt to illegalize a political force, which represents a large portion of the Czech voters.
